Jerusalem: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by extremist Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and extremist settler groups under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces on Sunday.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the OIC stated that this incident is part of ongoing attempts by Israel, the occupying power, to alter the historical and legal status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The OIC expressed concern over these actions, emphasizing their potential to provoke Muslims worldwide and destabilize the region.
The OIC held the Israeli occupation government fully responsible for the repercussions of these systematic actions. The organization called for the international community to assume its responsibilities in halting these violations and in preserving the historical and legal status of Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Al-Quds.
