Occupation Issues Military Order to Bulldoze, Uproot Trees Near Ramallah

Ramallah: Israeli occupation authorities have issued a decision to uproot more trees in the lands of the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah. Local sources reported that the occupation forces decided to bulldoze and uproot trees from 9.5 dunams of citizens’ land in the town of Sinjil to build a barbed wire fence.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the occupation has transformed half of Sinjil’s lands into military zones and colonial outposts, surrounding the town with a barbed wire wall. This has resulted in significant losses for local farmers, particularly due to the targeting of the hill plain occupied by colonists, who have also been reported to steal the farmers’ wheat crops.

The town of Sinjil experiences frequent raids and attacks by colonists on citizens and their property. These actions occur under the protection of the occupation army, which preemptively storms the town to secure the colonists’ incursions, especially in the “hill” area that separates Sinjil from the adjacent eastern farm.

Last year, Israeli occupation forces informed the residents of their intention to seize 30 dunams of land to construct a barbed-wire fence along Route 60. The fence, stretching over one kilometer and standing four meters high, is designed to isolate Sinjil from the main road. This barrier will prevent residents from accessing over 8,000 dunams of their lands located behind it.
