Gaza: Several Palestinians suffered from suffocation after Israeli occupation forces fired tear gas canisters into a home in the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, on Saturday evening.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Head of the al-Mughayyir Village Council, Amin Abu Alia, reported that Israeli forces targeted a home near the village's eastern entrance with tear gas canisters. This incident resulted in six Palestinians, including an elderly man with a heart condition, experiencing suffocation.
Abu Alia further explained that the tear gas canisters caused a fire at the entrance of the house. Civil Defense crews managed to extinguish the fire, control the situation, evacuate the injured, and transfer them for medical treatment.
In a related development, Abu Alia mentioned that occupation forces confiscated sums of money from several Palestinians following thorough searches at a military checkpoint located at the village's western entrance.
Earlier the same evening, additional reports of suffocation due to tear gas inhalation emerged as occupation forces conducted a raid on al-Mughayyir. During this operation, the forces detained and assaulted a Palestinian at the western entrance of the village. A child was also detained during the raid; however, both individuals were later released.
The village of al-Mughayyir, along with neighboring areas, has experienced repeated raids by Israeli occupation forces and ongoing attacks by colonists targeting Palestinians and their properties.
