Occupation Forces Bomb Beirut’s Southern Suburbs

Beirut: Israeli occupation warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Sunday.

According to Palestine news and Information Agency, earlier in the day, the extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, called for attacks on Beirut's southern suburbs. Ben-Gvir, in a statement on the social media platform X, declared, 'Today I will demand that Beirut's southern suburbs be shaken,' while Smotrich urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to 'bring down more buildings in Beirut's southern suburbs.'

Media sources reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a meeting of the Political-Security Cabinet (the Cabinet), amid speculation that a halt to the ground incursion in southern Lebanon could be considered in light of regional political developments.
