Gaza: Israeli occupation authorities have issued a new military order to seize 2.224 dunums of land in the village of Marda, located in the Salfit Governorate, citing 'military purposes' as the reason for the appropriation.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the land in question is strategically positioned adjacent to Route 505 and north of the colonial settlement of Ariel. The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission released a statement revealing that military order T/36/26 targets land in Basin No. 3 of Marda.
The military order specifies the seizure of this land area and its transfer of possession to the commander of the Israeli occupation army, facilitated by the official in charge of affairs related to the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Maps accompanying the order illustrate that the land lies directly south of Route 505, at a junction with a local road leading to an area north of the colonial settlement of Ariel, positioned approximately midway between Marda and Jamma'in.
This strategic location is significant for overseeing and controlling the movement corridor of the area. The order indicates that the purpose of the land seizure is to construct a tower or facility for collection and communications.
The Commission also highlighted that the issuance of this military order is part of a broader trend where occupation authorities increasingly employ 'seizure for military purposes' orders.
