New york: Prince Albert II of Monaco announced Monday evening his country's official recognition of the State of Palestine. This came in his speech at the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held in New York. The Prince of Monaco stated that recognizing the State of Palestine under international law is essential, emphasizing that peace must not remain a distant dream and that a two-state solution would bring stability to the region.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela also declared his country's official recognition of the State of Palestine during the same conference. Abela stressed that the two-state solution is the only way to ensure peace in the Middle East and expressed Malta's support for the Palestinian Authority's approach of one state, one government, one law, and one weapon. He highlighted the urgent need to stop the war in Gaza and the violence by Israeli settlers.
Furthermore, Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever announced Belgium's recognition of the State of Palestine. Speaking at the conference, De Wever cited Israeli settlement activity and military operations in Gaza as reasons for declaring recognition. He emphasized that Belgium is sending a diplomatic and political message through this recognition.
Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Luc Frieden, also declared his country's official recognition of the State of Palestine at the conference. He reiterated that the two-state solution remains the only viable path for lasting peace and said that recognition is the start of a renewed commitment to hope, diplomacy, and dialogue.
Additionally, Andorra's Foreign Minister, Imma Tor Faus, announced Andorra's recognition of the State of Palestine. Addressing the conference, Tor Faus highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and called for an immediate ceasefire. She affirmed that the two-state solution is the only credible path out of the conflict.
