MoFA Applauds Belgium’s Move to Recognize Palestinian Statehood

Ramallah: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the announcement by Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Prévost, of his country's intention to recognize the State of Palestine during the United Nations session. The Ministry considered this a step consistent with international law and UN resolutions, protecting the two-state solution, and supporting the achievement of peace. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Ministry called on countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to move quickly to announce their recognition, intensify practical efforts to stop the crimes of genocide, displacement, starvation, and annexation, and open a genuine political path to resolve the conflict and end the Israeli occupation of the State of Palestine.
