Low-Pressure System Brings Cold Weather and Rain to Country


Ramallah: The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced that a significant low-pressure system will intensify across the country today, leading to cloudy, very cold, and windy conditions.



According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, temperatures are expected to drop significantly, falling below the seasonal average. Most areas of the country should anticipate rain, which could become heavy at times and be accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional hail. Winds are projected to be southwesterly to westerly, brisk with occasional strong gusts reaching up to 80 km/h, and sea waves are expected to be high.



The evening and night will remain cloudy and very cold, with scattered showers anticipated, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms. The likelihood of precipitation will decrease during the late night hours. Winds will continue to be southwesterly to westerly, brisk with strong gusts, and sea waves will remain high.



Tomorrow, the forecast indicates cloudy to partly cloudy and cold to very cold conditions, with a continued chance of scattered rain in some areas. By midday, the low-pressure system is expected to weaken, leading to a slight rise in temperatures. Winds will be active, blowing from the west to northwest, and sea waves will continue to be high.



On Thursday, conditions are expected to be partly cloudy with a slight rise in temperatures, though it will remain cold. There is a slight chance of light, scattered showers in some areas, with winds becoming light to moderate, blowing from the southwest to northwest.
