King Abdullah II Stresses Need to Step Up Humanitarian Efforts in Gaza After Ceasefire

Amman: Jordan's King Abdullah II stressed on Friday the need to step up humanitarian efforts in Gaza after the ceasefire agreement.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, During a phone call with United Nations Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres, King Abdullah II emphasized the need to intensify international efforts within the humanitarian response in Gaza, following the recent ceasefire agreement. He highlighted the importance of committing to the implementation of all stages of the agreement and added that the current agreement must serve as a foundation to achieve comprehensive calm in the region.

Jordan's monarch warned of the dangers of unilateral measures against Palestinians in the West Bank and attacks on Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. He also commended the recent adoption of a resolution by the UNESCO Executive Board on the importance of preserving the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its walls.
