Jerusalemite Doctor Injured in Colonists’ Attack Near Bethlehem

Gaza: A Palestinian doctor from Jerusalem was injured on Sunday night after being beaten by colonists in the town of Jannatah, east of Bethlehem, according to the Jerusalem Governorate. The governorate said that Majed Alyan Dwayat, a resident of Sur Baher village, south of Jerusalem, sustained a broken hand when about 10 colonists attacked him with stones and sticks. The attackers also smashed the windows of his vehicle.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reported that Israeli occupation forces and colonists carried out a total of 2,256 attacks against Palestinians, their lands, and their properties during July. This figure includes 1,458 attacks by the occupation forces and 798 by colonists.

The Commission said the attacks were heavily concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 260 incidents, followed by Nablus with 247, Jenin with 190, Bethlehem with 185, and Hebron with 170.

The Commission emphasized that these statistics reveal clear coordination between the Israeli military and colonist elements. It noted that the occupation army provides protection, support, and a permissive environment that allows such attacks to expand and establish new realities on the ground.
