rome: Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, announced today that Italy is actively working towards establishing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to the region. Speaking at the MED Mediterranean Dialogues Conference held in Rome, Tajani emphasized Italy's commitment to finding a lasting solution to the ongoing conflict and instability in the Middle East. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Tajani highlighted the "Food for Gaza" initiative, which Italy launched in collaboration with relevant United Nations institutions. The initiative aims to improve the coordination of humanitarian aid to Gaza, which has been severely affected by recent conflicts. Tajani revealed that an aircraft carrying aid will depart from Italy in the coming days, destined for the Gaza Strip. Additionally, the Italian Foreign Minister announced that a ship will soon set sail from an Italian port, loaded with 15 trucks and several tons of aid. This shipment, donated by Italy to the World Food Program, is intended for distribution within Gaza. The "Food for Gaza" initiative, which began in March in partnership with United Nations organizations, seeks to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, exacerbated by ongoing hostilities since October 2023.
