Israeli Strike Results in Casualties in Central and Southern Gaza Strip

Gaza: An Israeli strike early Friday resulted in the deaths of five Palestinians and left others injured in the central and southern regions of the Gaza Strip, as reported by local sources. The incident involved an Israeli combat drone targeting a group of individuals near the al-Maslakh area, west of Khan Younes, leading to the death of three people. According to Palestine News and Information Agency, medical sources at Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah confirmed that two deceased Palestinians and several injured individuals were brought to the hospital. This followed another Israeli drone strike north of the al-Bureij refugee camp. Since the ceasefire agreement was enacted on October 10, 2025, at least 618 Palestinians have been killed and 1,663 injured by the occupation forces. During this period, the bodies of 726 Palestinians have been recovered. Israel's military operations in the Strip, ongoing since October 2023, have claimed the lives of at least 72,082 Palestinians, primarily women and ch ildren, and injured 171,761 others. Additionally, approximately 10,000 people remain unaccounted for, believed to be buried under the rubble of their homes. The conflict has also led to the forced displacement of nearly two million people from across the Gaza Strip. The majority of these displaced individuals have been pushed into the overcrowded southern city of Rafah, near the Egyptian border, marking Palestine's largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
