Israeli Strike in Sheikh Ajleen Results in Fatalities and Injuries

Gaza city: An Israeli strike on Tuesday evening resulted in the death of a Palestinian and injuries to several others in the Sheikh Ajleen neighborhood, west of Gaza City. The incident occurred when an Israeli combat drone targeted the vicinity of Haidar Roundabout, leading to civilian casualties.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the recent attack is part of an ongoing military campaign by Israel on the Gaza Strip that began on October 7, 2023. This campaign has resulted in the deaths of 73,789 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and injured 174,798 others. The extensive military actions have devastated 90% of the Strip's infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated at $70 billion.

Since the ceasefire agreement on October 11, 2025, hostilities have continued, with Israeli forces killing 1,375 Palestinians and injuring 4,686 others. During this period, 831 bodies have been recovered. In the past 24 hours alone, three bodies and 27 casualties were taken to Gaza hospitals.

Additionally, at least 10,000 individuals remain missing, presumed dead beneath the ruins of their homes across the Strip. The ongoing conflict has led to the displacement of nearly two million people, the majority of whom have been forced into Rafah, near the Egyptian border, marking the largest Palestinian exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
