Israeli Strike in Gaza Results in Casualties

Gaza City:An Israeli strike on Monday evening hit al-Jalaa Street, located northwest of Gaza City, resulting in the death of a Palestinian and injuries to several others.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the attack involved an Israeli combat drone targeting a civilian area, which led to one fatality and six injuries. Those affected were taken to al-Shifa Hospital for treatment.

This incident is part of a broader conflict in the region. Since October 7, 2023, Israel's military actions in Gaza have caused significant casualties and destruction. Reports indicate that 74,480 Palestinians, primarily women and children, have died, and 175,539 others have been injured. The extensive damage has devastated 90% of Gaza's infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated at $70 billion.

Following a ceasefire agreement effective from October 11, 2025, ongoing hostilities have continued to claim lives, with 1,522 Palestinians killed and 5,421 injured. Additionally, 839 bodies have been recovered, and at least 10,000 individuals remain missing, feared buried under the rubble.

The violence has also triggered the displacement of nearly two million people across Gaza, with most seeking refuge in the overcrowded city of Rafah, marking the largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
