Israeli Police Raid UNRWA-Run Training Center in Qalandia

Gaza: Israeli occupation forces raided Qalandia refugee camp north of occupied Jerusalem on Sunday and deployed inside the camp's alleys, according to the Jerusalem Governorate. The governorate reported that the police also raided the UNRWA-run Qalandia Vocational Training Center and spread throughout its grounds.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israeli forces had previously raided Qalandia refugee camp and Kafr Aqab on Tuesday, with a significant deployment of troops and military vehicles in the streets and neighborhoods, initiating the clearance of the UN-run center. Far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir participated in that raid, stating that Israeli authorities had started 'an operation to evacuate the building,' claiming that 'there is no place for the agency in Jerusalem and Israel.'

The compound in question includes educational, vocational, and health facilities. UNRWA had earlier warned about an Israeli plan targeting its facilities at the site, indicating that the plan's execution would necessitate demolishing most of the training center's facilities.
