Israeli Municipality Levies Fines on Palestinian Vehicles in Silwan, Jerusalem

Jerusalem: The all-Israeli municipality of occupied Jerusalem imposed fines today on Palestinian vehicles in the neighborhood of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, according to local sources. The sources reported that Israeli municipality teams set up a checkpoint in the Al-Bustan district in Silwan and began issuing fines to Palestinian vehicles for no apparent reason.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, these fines are part of an ongoing tactic used by the Israeli authorities to punish Palestinian residents of Jerusalem. The fines are typically imposed under flimsy pretexts and serve as a form of collective punishment, further compounding the hardships faced by Palestinians living in the city under occupation.
