Israeli Military Raids in Gaza Result in High Civilian Casualties.


Gaza City: Israeli airstrikes on northern and central Gaza have resulted in numerous civilian casualties, with several killed and many more injured. The attacks on Monday night included a bombing on Al-Jalaa Street in Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to several others.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Israeli drones targeted a gathering of citizens, exacerbating the toll on civilians. Additionally, a girl was reportedly killed when occupation forces opened fire at Halima Al-Saadia School, a shelter for displaced people in Jabalia Al-Nazla, located north of the Gaza Strip.

Earlier incidents included a raid on a commercial store on Omar Mukhtar Street in Gaza City, where two citizens were killed and others injured. Further south, in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, Israeli shelling claimed the lives of two more citizens and injured several others. The ongoing military operations have also led to injuries in the vicinity of Al-Sina’a Junction, west of Gaza City, due to drone and artillery attacks. In the northern Gaza Strip, the Saftawi neighborhood was shelled, accompanied by heavy gunfire from Israeli tanks. The town of Beit Lahiya also faced artillery shelling, with several houses reportedly destroyed.

In the central Gaza Strip, a girl was killed, and a citizen injured in the bombardment of a house in Camp 1 area in Nuseirat camp. Furthermore, five citizens were injured following an airstrike on a house in Block 9 area in the Bureij camp.

Medical sources have reported that at least 30 citizens, including women and children, have been killed in the ongoing Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip since this morning, with 17 fatalities in the central and southern regions. The broader Israeli offensive, ongoing since October 7, 2023, has resulted in the deaths of 44,466 civilians, predominantly women and children, a
nd left 105,358 others injured.

This casualty count is likely incomplete, as many victims remain trapped under debris or are inaccessible to ambulance and rescue crews due to continuous shelling and the significant destruction in the region.
