Israeli Military Issues Orders to Seize Palestinian Land and Remove Trees in Bethlehem Governorate

Bethlehem:The Israeli military has issued orders affecting Palestinian land in the Bethlehem governorate, targeting areas in al-Khader and Arab al-Ta'amra, as well as ordering the removal of trees and vegetation in Nahalin.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, four military orders were issued on October 28, 2026, by Israeli occupation authorities. These orders involve the seizure of 4.708 dunums of land in al-Khader and Arab al-Ta'amra and the removal of trees from 10.085 dunums in Nahalin.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission detailed that these orders are a combination of direct military control imposition over specific routes and the forced removal of trees around Israeli settlements. This reflects the use of military and security powers to alter the use of Palestinian land.

Military seizure order No. 147/26 targets 4.408 dunums of land in al-Khader, covering a route extending 878 meters around the Efrat settlement and linked to a project for constructing a tower. The accompanying map shows this route crossing agricultural terraces, placing a strip of farmland under military control, with implications for surrounding lands.

A second military seizure order, No. 164/26, targets 0.3 dunums in Arab al-Ta'amra near the Tekoa settlement. This order involves modifications to the security installations' boundaries, with several small sites identified for security infrastructure.

Both land seizure orders are effective until December 31, 2028, allowing Israeli authorities exclusive possession of these areas during this period.

In Nahalin, security measures order No. 101/26 targets 0.968 dunums near the Neve Daniel settlement, requiring the removal of pine trees and wild vegetation.
