Israeli Forces Shoot Palestinian Civilian in Al-Ram Town

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces shot a Palestinian civilian in al-Ram town, north of the occupied West Bank city of Jerusalem, on Monday evening. The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the incident occurred during confrontations in the town, resulting in the injury of a civilian.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the severity of the injury was not immediately known. The confrontation arose as soldiers established a checkpoint in the town, where they stopped vehicles and inspected passengers' ID cards.

The occupation forces frequently conduct raids on Palestinian houses across the West Bank. These operations are claimed to be in search of 'wanted' Palestinians and often lead to clashes with residents. These raids happen almost daily and are carried out without the requirement of a search warrant, reflecting the sweeping arbitrary powers the military holds.

Under Israeli military law, commanders possess full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over the 3 million Palestinians residing in the West Bank. Palestinians have no input regarding the exercise of this authority, which allows the military to act at its discretion.
