Jerusalem: Israeli forces set up on Thursday a military checkpoint in the town of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli troops established a checkpoint in the Ras al-Amud neighborhood of Silwan. The checkpoint involved stopping Palestinian vehicles and checking their ID cards. This operation resulted in a severe traffic jam in the area.
The checkpoint’s location, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, is significant due to the area’s historical and religious importance, which often makes it a point of tension. The actions taken by the Israeli forces have led to disruptions in the daily activities of residents and travelers in the area.
