Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces prevented worshippers on Tuesday evening from performing Tarawih prayers in several neighborhoods of occupied Jerusalem, as the closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque continues.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local sources reported that Israeli forces were deployed around Bab Al-Amud and Bab Al-Sahera, as well as in the vicinity of Al-Rashidiya School. These forces actively prevented worshippers from performing Tarawih prayers and compelled them to vacate the area.
The sources further noted that Israeli forces directed worshippers toward the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood in an effort to disperse them and inhibit any prayer gatherings.
In a related incident, Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters at the entrance of Souq al-Jumaa, escalating tensions in the area.
These actions occur amid ongoing military restrictions across Jerusalem, especially around the Old City, and the persistent prevention of worshippers from accessing the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
