Bethlehem:Israeli occupation forces re-arrested a former prisoner from Bethlehem on Monday evening. The arrest took place at the former prisoner's home in the al-Maslakh area, where the 48-year-old was taken into custody.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, a security source reported the arrest to WAFA's correspondent. The forces also briefly detained a minor in the village of Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah.
Nazem Saleh, the Village Council Head of Abu Falah, informed WAFA that Israeli forces entered the village, deployed across several areas, and detained a child near the entrance of the village. Such raids are part of frequent operations by Israeli forces across the West Bank, conducted under the pretext of searching for 'wanted' Palestinians.
These operations often lead to clashes with residents, as they can be carried out without search warrants due to the sweeping powers granted under Israeli military law. This law gives army commanders full control over the Palestinian population of the West Bank, who have no input on how these powers are used.
