Israeli Forces Raid UNRWA Schools in Shuafat Refugee Camp

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces stormed on Tuesday schools run by the UNRWA in the Shuafat refugee camp, northeast of occupied Jerusalem. The Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli troops conducted searches inside the schools and carried out engineering measurements of the buildings.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the raid involved a comprehensive inspection of the educational facilities. The purpose of the engineering measurements conducted by the forces remains unclear, raising concerns among local residents and the international community.

The Shuafat refugee camp, located on the outskirts of Jerusalem, is home to many Palestinian families. The presence of UNRWA schools is significant in providing education to children in the camp. The recent raid has sparked discussions regarding the impact on the educational environment and the safety of students and staff.

UNRWA, the United Nations agency responsible for aiding Palestinian refugees, has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident. The agency's schools in the region are considered a critical resource for the community, offering education and support to thousands of children.

The international community continues to monitor the situation, with many calling for restraint and the protection of educational institutions in conflict zones.
