Israeli Forces Raid Town West of Ramallah, Deploy Tear Gas in Shuqba

Ramallah: Israeli occupation forces on Monday evening raided Shuqba, a town located west of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to local sources. Witnesses reported the presence of a convoy of army vehicles that stormed the town, with soldiers deploying across several neighborhoods and releasing multiple tear gas canisters.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, there was no immediate information on any casualties resulting from the raid. The occupation forces are known for conducting frequent raids on Palestinian houses across the West Bank, often without the need for a search warrant. These actions are part of an ongoing effort to search for individuals deemed 'wanted' by the military, which frequently leads to clashes with residents.

The raids are conducted under the authority granted by Israeli military law, which gives army commanders extensive powers, including full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over the 3 million Palestinians residing in the West Bank. The local Palestinian population does not have any control or influence over how this authority is exercised.
