Jerusalem: For the fifth consecutive day, the Israeli occupation forces continue to impose arbitrary measures at their military checkpoints near most of the entrances and exits of the governorates in the West Bank. The occupation is trying to create a state of violent chaos in the occupied West Bank to facilitate its annexation, which was evident in the brutal attacks committed by terrorist colonist gangs against local citizens, their towns, their properties, their homes, their lands, and their holy sites, in all governorates.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the occupation forces tightened their military measures today at the Qalandia, Jaba, Shuafat camp, and the container checkpoints surrounding the occupied city of Jerusalem. Local sources reported that the occupation is conducting thorough inspections of citizens’ IDs and vehicles, which hinders their movement and negatively affects their daily lives, especially in commuting to work and school, and receiving basic services.
In Jenin, the Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the city and its camp for the third consecutive day, resulting so far in the killing of 12 Palestinians and the injury of others. Meanwhile, in Nablus governorate, the occupation forces tightened their military measures, set up military checkpoints, and closed most of the iron gates at the entrances to villages and towns. The Deir Sharaf checkpoint is witnessing a stifling crisis, and vehicles at the Al-Murabba’a and Awarta checkpoints in the south and Beit Furik in the east are subjected to thorough inspection. New concrete blocks were placed at the Beit Furik military checkpoint east of Nablus on Thursday, closing it to vehicle passage.
In Jericho, the occupation forces stationed at military checkpoints surrounding the main and secondary entrances to the city continued to prevent citizens from leaving it. In the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate, the Israeli occupation forces tightened their military measures, set up military checkpoints, and detained three Palestinians after raiding several towns and villages. The occupation forces set up a military checkpoint at the entrance to the city of Rawabi, northwest of Ramallah, and tightened their measures at the Ein Siniya checkpoint north of Ramallah, causing crises and thorough inspections.
In Hebron, the occupation forces tightened their punitive measures against residents, closed checkpoints, and hindered movement, forcing citizens to spend the night waiting to pass. In Tubas, military measures were tightened at the Tayasir and Hamra military checkpoints in the northern Jordan Valley. Around Qalqilya governorate, the forces closed the entrance to the villages of Nabi Elias and Hajjah with an iron gate, preventing movement. Checkpoints were set up at the western entrance to the town of Azzun and the eastern entrance to Qalqilya city, causing traffic jams.
