Israeli Forces Issue Stop-Work Order for Palestinian Home Near Jerusalem

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces issued a stop-work order on Monday for a Palestinian house under construction in the town of Al-Jib, northwest of occupied Jerusalem. The order has intensified tensions in the area, with local residents expressing frustration over the halt in construction activities. According to Palestine News and Information Agency, the Jerusalem Governorate stated that Israeli authorities delivered a notice to a resident ordering him to halt construction in the Khirbet Khalla area of Al-Jib. The authorities claim that the area is classified as an "archaeological site" and falls within Area C, where construction is prohibited. The Governorate further noted that employees from the Israeli Ministry of Antiquities, accompanied by a group of colonists and Israeli forces, had previously raided the area. This incident has raised concerns among Palestinian residents about the increasing restrictions on construction and development in the region.
