Al-Walajah: Israeli occupation forces issued demolition orders on Thursday for five homes and an agricultural structure in the village of al-Walajah, located northwest of Bethlehem. These orders also include the leveling of agricultural land within the village, as reported by local sources.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Khadir al-Araj, head of the al-Walajah Village Council, stated that Israeli forces entered the village and delivered demolition orders for five inhabited homes. These homes belong to local Palestinian residents and are currently occupied. The demolition orders have been justified on the grounds of lacking necessary building permits.
Al-Araj further mentioned that in addition to the homes, Israeli forces issued an order to demolish a horse stable owned by a local Palestinian. Orders were also issued to raze agricultural land owned by residents Zakaria Mahmoud al-Araj and Hamed Saleh Hajjajleh.
The practice of demolishing Palestinian homes in Area C of the West Bank, which is under full Israeli control, is a frequent occurrence. Israeli occupation authorities often cite construction without Israeli permission as the reason for these demolitions.
