GAZA CITY: Israeli occupation forces have escalated their military operations targeting hospitals in the Gaza Strip, causing significant damage and endangering the lives of patients and medical personnel. The attacks have focused on several key medical facilities, including the Indonesian Hospital and Al-Awda Hospital, amid ongoing conflict in the region.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Israeli forces set fire to multiple shelters and homes near the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza and have bulldozed the hospital’s perimeter wall. These actions have compromised the hospital’s operations and posed a severe threat to the safety of those inside.
The shelling has also extended to Al-Awda Hospital in Tel Zaatar within the Jabalia refugee camp. Fires have erupted around Al-Awda, Kamal Adwan, and Indonesian hospitals due to the relentless shelling and intentional fires set by the occupation forces. The situation is dire, as the hospitals are already struggling with limited resources amid the ongoing conflict.
WAFA correspondent reported that 23 individuals, comprising patients and medical staff, are trapped inside the Indonesian Hospital. They face the risk of starvation due to a critical shortage of food and water supplies. The humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate as the conflict intensifies, raising concerns about the potential for a larger crisis in the heavily populated Gaza Strip.
