Hebron: Israeli occupation forces today transported several mobile homes to a newly established settlement outpost on Mount Tarousa, west of Hebron.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israeli military trucks moved the caravans to the new outpost, named "Doron," which began construction in June on Palestinian-owned land in the Mount Tarousa area, belonging to the town of Dura.
Israeli forces, along with a group of colonists, initiated excavation and land-grading activities in the area in June to prepare for the new settlement. This move was preceded by a series of attacks that started when armed colonists, protected by Israeli forces, entered the area, erected a tent, and placed a sign marking the establishment of the new settlement, "Doron."
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, accompanied by several government ministers and settler leaders, later visited the area and participated in a ceremony laying the foundation stone for "Doron," planned to be built on Palestinian-owned land. "Doron" is one of 19 new settlements approved by the Israeli government for establishment in the West Bank last year, as part of plans to expand settlements and facilitate the seizure of additional Palestinian land.
