Jenin: Israeli occupation forces today detained two Palestinians from the village of Faqqua, northeast of Jenin, after armed settlers detained them while they were harvesting prickly pear fruit on their land near a newly established settlement outpost in the area.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Faqqua village council head Barakat al-Omari reported that two farmers and a child were on their land when they were approached by two armed settlers from the newly established outpost. The settlers detained the farmers until Israeli occupation forces arrived.
Al-Omari further stated that the occupation forces subsequently detained the two farmers, identified as Munir Mahmoud Sidqi Salah, 44, and Ahmad Abdullah Zidan, 75, while releasing the child. The child was left to return home on foot.
The farmers were taken to an unknown location by the occupation forces, and their current whereabouts and the reasons for their detention remain unknown.
