Israeli Forces Detain Six Palestinians After Colonists Attack Shepherds in Masafer Yatta

Hebron:Israeli occupation forces detained six Palestinians following an attack by Israeli colonists on shepherds in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron. The incident occurred on Thursday and involved armed colonists targeting shepherds in the Khirbet Khshm al-Daraj area within the Yatta wilderness.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the colonists also attacked a besieged Palestinian home south of Yatta, throwing chemical substances at it under the protection of Israeli forces.

Activist Osama Makhameh reported that the colonists detained several shepherds for hours before the Israeli forces intervened and detained six Palestinians. He further noted that the forces seized a vehicle, an agricultural tractor, and a water tanker belonging to a local Palestinian. Additionally, the forces raided a home, briefly detained several women, and confiscated 11 mobile phones.

In Wadi al-Rakhim, south of Yatta, a home accommodating 11 family members has been under siege by Israeli forces and colonist groups for more than a month. The attackers threw balloons containing foul-smelling chemical substances toward the house's windows, causing panic among family members and forcing them to gather in a single room. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The family residing in the besieged home has been unable to leave for a month, with access to the property and the delivery of humanitarian assistance severely restricted, except through difficult and lengthy coordination procedures.
