Jaba':Israeli occupation forces detained a Palestinian man on Saturday while he was harvesting olives in the town of Jaba', located south of Jenin.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the detained individual was identified as Omar Qasem Fashafsheh, a local resident of Jaba'. The detention took place as Fashafsheh was picking olives near a newly established illegal colonial settlement outpost situated between the towns of Jaba' and Sanur.
The area of the detention has seen recent colonial activity, with earthworks initiated by colonists a few days ago at the site of the former Sanur military camp, vacated by the Israeli army in 2005. This activity has raised concerns among local Palestinian residents about the safety of their agricultural lands during the ongoing olive harvest season.
