Ramallah: Israeli forces detained at least 45 Palestinians from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) reported that the detentions occurred in the towns of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, Deir al-Hatab, east of Nablus, and the Shuafat refugee camp, northeast of Jerusalem. Additional arrests were made across the governorates of Tulkarm, Jericho, Hebron, and Salfit.
The PPS statement highlighted that the arrests and field interrogations involved systematic abuse and assaults against the detainees and their families. It further mentioned that detainees were used as hostages, and there was extensive destruction of Palestinian homes. Notably, Israeli forces demolished the home of prisoner Ahmad Abu al-Rub in Qabatiya at dawn on Wednesday.
The statement also emphasized that the occupation authorities continue to implement arrests as a primary and systematic policy against Palestinian citizens. The detentions have affected all segments of Palestinian society, with the number of arrests in the West Bank since the genocidal war reaching approximately 21,000.
