Beit Hanina:Jerusalem Israeli occupation forces demolished three homes in the town of Beit Hanina, north of occupied Jerusalem.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that the demolished homes belonged to the Shawamreh family in the Al-Ashqariya neighborhood.
Additionally, it was reported that a resident, Fadl Al-Rajabi, was compelled to self-demolish his home in Beit Hanina due to the lack of a building permit. This practice is common, as occupation authorities often require Palestinian residents in occupied Jerusalem to demolish their own homes if they lack permits. If residents refuse, the authorities proceed with demolitions and charge the owners substantial fees.
The refusal of the occupation municipality in Jerusalem to grant building permits to Palestinians, coupled with the demolition of homes, is part of a broader strategy. This approach violates international law and aims to displace Palestinians from Jerusalem to facilitate the expansion of settlements in the city and its surrounding areas.
