Ramallah: Israeli occupation forces on Friday closed the main road near the village of Umm Safa, northwest of Ramallah, to secure a flag-waving march by Israeli colonists.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, the closure prevented the movement of Palestinian vehicles and forced drivers to turn back, compelling commuters to take longer alternative routes to reach Ramallah. He added that dozens of colonists took part in a provocative march that started near Umm Safa and proceeded toward the Halamish colony, which is illegally built on lands belonging to the villages of Nabi Salih and Deir Nizam.
The closed road serves several towns and villages northwest of Ramallah, as well as parts of the Salfit governorate.
