Hebron:Israeli forces have closed the Ibrahimi Mosque and nearby commercial shops in Hebron's Old City to Palestinians, intensifying military measures and shutting down checkpoints and electronic gates leading to the mosque.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, the closures are part of security arrangements for celebrations by colonists at the mosque and its courtyards. Israeli forces have also increased their presence at all entrances to secure colonists' access to the Old City, the Ibrahimi Mosque, and surrounding archaeological sites.
In a separate incident, Israeli colonists attacked the homes of the Shnaran family in Wadi al-Rakhim, located south of the town of Yatta in southern Hebron province. The colonists assaulted residents and set fire to bales of straw near the homes.
During Jewish holidays, Hebron often sees heightened restrictions on Palestinians, including closures, increased military measures at checkpoints, and restricted access for residents, particularly affecting the Old City and nearby areas.
