Ramallah: Israeli forces closed on Saturday the main entrance to the town of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the local sources indicated that the Israeli army shut the iron gate at the town's main entrance, preventing Palestinian vehicles from entering or leaving. This action is part of ongoing measures aimed at restricting the movement of Palestinians.
The closure of the entrance to Turmus Ayya is part of a broader pattern impacting the region. A report issued on February 7, 2026, by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, highlighted that the number of military checkpoints and gates across the Palestinian territories has reached 916, with 243 of these gates being established after October 7, 2023.
