Jenin:Israeli forces deployed tear gas on Wednesday against Palestinian farmers from the towns of Fandaqumiya, Jaba', and Silat al-Dhahr as they attempted to access their agricultural lands for olive harvesting. Despite prior coordination arrangements, the farmers were forced to leave the area.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the Israeli forces had already prevented the farmers from accessing their lands on Tuesday, advising them to return the following day under a coordination agreement specifically arranged for the olive harvest in designated areas. However, the forces again blocked their entry, and hundreds of families were denied access to lands near the Tarsala settlement.
In a separate incident in Ya'bad, southwest of Jenin, a group of Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian olive harvesters, assaulted them, and stole their olives, effectively driving them off their lands. This occurred despite prior coordination for the harvest.
Local sources reported that the Palestinian liaison office had informed the residents about the coordination for Wednesday's harvesting on lands north of al-Sahl Street, from the Kafr Qud junction to Amriha. The farmers were scheduled to enter the area at 7 a.m., but the settlers' actions prevented them from continuing their work, forcing them to abandon the harvest.
