Israeli Forces and Colonists’ Actions Lead to Suffocation of 18 Palestinians in Hebron

Hebron:Eighteen Palestinians experienced suffocation on Thursday evening due to attacks by Israeli forces and colonists in the Hebron Governorate, located in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Israeli forces launched tear gas into a home in the Old City of Hebron, causing 11 Palestinians, including women and children, to suffer from suffocation. The affected individuals were treated at the scene by Palestinian Red Crescent teams.

In the village of Um al-Khair in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, activist Osama Makhamreh reported that armed colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, attacked residents by spraying pepper gas in their faces. This assault led to seven Palestinians, including a foreign solidarity activist, experiencing burns and breathing difficulties.

Additionally, a group of colonists, protected by Israeli forces, has been besieging the home of Palestinian citizen Yousef Shnaran in Wadi al-Rakhim, Masafer Yatta, for three consecutive days. This siege has prevented Shnaran and his family of 10, comprising women and children, from either leaving or accessing their house.

WAFA also reported that colonists established a new outpost directly opposite Shnaran's residence four days prior to surrounding the house with his family inside, in an effort to compel him to leave his home forcibly.
