Gaza: Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on Tuesday boasted about the demolition of Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank. Smotrich made the remarks in a post on the social media platform X, which included images showing the demolition of Palestinian homes in the West Bank.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Smotrich stated, "We are continuing to enforce the law and prevent illegal construction and takeover by Arabs in the West Bank. For many years, they have acted in the area as if it belonged to them. That is over. The West Bank is an inseparable part of the State of Israel and constitutes an area of its security."
Smotrich's comments are part of his ongoing election campaign, as the country prepares for elections scheduled for next October. His statements and actions have heightened tensions in the region, with Smotrich previously announcing his government's intention to annex 82% of the West Bank. He has repeatedly emphasized the need to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state, a stance that has sparked significant controversy and international attention.
