Israeli Far-Right Knesset Member Zvi Sukkot Storms Bedouin Community Near Jericho

Jericho: Israeli far-right Knesset member Zvi Sukkot stormed the Bedouin community of Shallal al-Auja on Friday, north of Jericho, and verbally assaulted a number of international peace activists who were present to show solidarity with Palestinian families facing the risk of displacement in the area.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Al-Baidar Human Rights Organization stated that the incursion by Sukkot, a member of the Religious Zionism party, constitutes a clear violation of civilians' right to peaceful protest and solidarity. The organization emphasized that such actions only serve to escalate tensions and pose a risk to both residents and activists in the community.

The incident is seen in the context of ongoing attacks by colonists and extremist politicians against Bedouin communities in the region, creating an increasingly volatile environment. Local communities and international observers continue to express concern over the safety and rights of those living in these areas, calling for measures to ensure their protection from such aggressive acts.
