Gaza City: An Israeli drone strike on Friday evening resulted in the death of three Palestinian civilians in the at-Tuffah neighborhood, located east of Gaza City.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the attack involved Israeli forces using a drone to target a civilian gathering in the area, causing fatalities and injuring several others. The incident is part of a broader Israeli military campaign in the region, which continues despite an order from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to cease operations in Rafah due to potential violations of the Genocide Convention.
The ongoing conflict in Gaza, which began on October 7, has led to the deaths of at least 46,876 Palestinians and injuries to over 110,642 others. Additionally, approximately 10,000 people remain missing, believed to be trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings throughout the area.
Palestinian and international organizations report that women and children constitute the majority of casualties in this conflict. The Israeli military actions have also displaced nearly two million people, with most seeking refuge in the densely populated southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border, marking the largest mass displacement in Palestine since the 1948 Nakba.
