Israeli Colonists Ignite Bedouin Tents Near Salfit

Salfit: Israeli colonists ignited Bedouin tents in the Wadi al-Matwi area, creating a tense situation between the city of Salfit and the town of Bruqin. Local sources reported that the colonists not only set fire to the tents but also vandalized the property of the Bedouin community.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the colonists had previously assaulted the tent residents, using pepper spray against them. These actions occur amidst ongoing efforts by the occupation forces and colonists to construct a new colonial road. This road is intended to link a new colonial outpost with the village of Farkha, situated southwest of Salfit.

In addition, Mustafa Hammad, head of the Farkha village council, informed WAFA that the colonists have commenced laying power lines and rehabilitating a road to the new colonial outpost. Large tracts of land in the Wadi al-Matwi area have been bulldozed to connect the Ariel settlement and the al-Ras settlement, established on Salfit’s lands, to this new outpost.
