Israeli Colonists Fire on Palestinian Olive Pickers in Birin

Hebron:Israeli colonists opened live fire on Palestinian olive pickers on Wednesday in the village of Birin, east of Hebron.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, Farid Barqan, head of the Birin village council, reported that armed colonists from a newly established settlement outpost fired indiscriminately at local farmers as they harvested olives. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Barqan further explained that villagers are subjected to daily attacks by colonists and Israeli occupation forces. These incidents have escalated sharply in recent weeks during the olive harvest season. The attacks are reportedly intended to prevent residents from accessing their land and harvesting their olives, facilitating the theft of crops and the seizure of land for settlement expansion.
