Israeli Colonists Establish New Outpost Near Jericho.

Jericho: Israeli colonists Thursday evening set up a new colonial outpost near the Ras al-'Ayn community, located close to al-Auja Spring, north of the occupied West Bank city of Jericho, according to a local activist. Hassan Malihat, the general supervisor of Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, reported that the colonists erected the outpost by pitching a tent and installing a water tank, laying the groundwork for further construction in the area. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the establishment of this outpost is part of a broader pattern of violence and intimidation faced by Palestinians in the West Bank. Incidents of colonists' violence include arsons targeting property and mosques, stone-throwing, destruction of crops and olive trees, and attacks on homes. These acts are rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities, contributing to ongoing tensions in the region. Currently, over 700,000 Israeli colonists reside in colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank, which is considered a violation of international law. The presence and expansion of these colonies remain a contentious issue, exacerbating the conflict between Israeli colonists and Palestinian communities.
