Gaza: Israeli colonists attempted to set fire to a mosque in the town of Beita, early Tuesday morning, northwest of Nablus. Local sources reported that colonists set fire to a room near the Nur al-Din Zanki Mosque after failing to break down its doors and spray-painting racist slogans at the site.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Ministry of Religious Endowments and Affairs condemned the attack, describing the targeting of mosques and places of worship as a systematic escalation aimed at provoking Muslims and violating the sanctity of religious sites protected under international law. Sheikh Nasser al-Salman, Director General of the Nablus Endowments, stated that the attempted arson and graffiti reflect the ongoing incitement against Palestinian holy sites.
He emphasized that the mosque would remain a place for worshippers and their faith-based message, and these attacks would not diminish Palestinians' attachment to their land and holy places. The Ministry urged international and human rights organizations to protect places of worship and to address the repeated attacks on Palestinian villages and towns.
