Salfit: Armed Israeli colonists today attacked Palestinian olive pickers in the occupied West Bank province of Salfit. Yousef Al-Deek, a local farmer, reported that the colonists, originating from an illegal outpost on lands belonging to citizens near the town of Kafr Al-Deek, confronted the olive pickers in the area of Khalat Al-Haramiya, west of the town. The colonists resorted to shouting, cursing, and issuing threats, attempting to force the farmers off their land and prevent them from continuing their olive harvesting activities. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Al-Deek highlighted that over the past week, the colonists have stolen 30 bags of olives and agricultural equipment. Additionally, the colonists have been grazing their livestock among the olive trees and provoking the farmers, thereby hindering their access to their lands. It is significant to note that agricultural lands in the Salfit governorate face daily aggression from colonists and occupation forces. These attac ks have intensified during the olive harvest season as part of efforts to displace local residents from their lands. The annual olive harvest season is marked by repeated assaults from colonists and the occupation army on Palestinian lands. Farmers encounter numerous challenges and arbitrary restrictions that prevent them from accessing their lands, resulting in considerable financial losses and exacerbating their daily hardships.
