Tulkarm:A group of Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian farmers while they were picking olives in the Sahl Ramin area, east of Tulkarm, on Thursday. The colonists attempted to steal harvesting equipment, olive crops, and picking sheets during the confrontation.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, Manal Zaidan, an activist with the Palestinian Farmers Union, reported that he was working on his land when the attack occurred. The colonists arrived in three tuk-tuk vehicles, armed, and suddenly assaulted the farmers. Despite the aggression, the farmers were able to confront the attackers and prevent the theft.
Zaidan also mentioned that one of the colonists fired live ammunition into the air to intimidate the farmers. This act was intended to force them off their land and deter them from continuing their work. Such incidents are reportedly not isolated, as farmers in the area frequently face harassment and assaults, particularly during the olive harvest season, hindering their ability to access and work their land freely and safely.
