Jenin:Israeli colonists reportedly stole equipment and vandalized Palestinian property in the town of Jaba', located south of Jenin. The incidents occurred in the early hours of Friday, as explained by the town's mayor.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the mayor, Mohammad al-Baddad, stated that colonists arrived in a vehicle at the eastern part of Jaba'. They allegedly broke into a vehicle repair workshop, stole equipment, and caused damage to three vehicles by smashing their windows and deflating their tires. Additionally, they are accused of stealing a vehicle radio, other equipment, and two sheep from an area near the villagers' homes.
Al-Baddad also mentioned that Jaba' has recently experienced an unprecedented wave of colonist attacks targeting both land and residents' property. In a related incident on Friday morning, colonists reportedly vandalized the contents of a Palestinian home in the al-Masudiya area, northwest of Nablus. Local sources confirmed that the settlers broke into the home, causing extensive damage and cutting off electricity supply cables.
Violence perpetrated by colonists against Palestinians and their property is described as routine in the West Bank, with incidents often going unprosecuted by Israeli authorities. Such violence includes arson of property and mosques, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes. It is noted that approximately 1 million Israeli colonists reside in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
