Beirut: Three Lebanese citizens were killed and another wounded in separate Israeli airstrikes targeting areas in southern Lebanon.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the incidents occurred on Sunday when two separate raids were executed by Israeli forces. The first raid targeted a motorcycle in the town of Yater, in the Bint Jbeil district, resulting in one fatality and another individual being wounded. The second raid targeted a car traveling between the towns of Safad al-Batikh and Barashit, claiming the life of a second individual.
Additionally, a member of the municipal council in the town of Jouaya, located in the Tyre district, was killed in another Israeli raid, bringing the total number of fatalities for the day to three. In a related incident, an Israeli drone dropped bombs on two excavators in the town of Shebaa, while occupation forces targeted the Bastra farm with machine gun fire from their position in Ramtha.
Local sources reported that an Israeli drone also dropped explosive devices on a house on the southern outskirts of the town of Aitaroun, in southern Lebanon. Israeli artillery further targeted the Shannouh farm and Wadi Elias on the outskirts of the town of Halta, within the Kfarshouba municipality in the Nabatieh Governorate.
These developments occurred as Israeli forces intensified their reconnaissance flights over the Tyre region throughout the night and into the morning, particularly over the town of Yanouh. The National News Agency indicated that a Lebanese army force remains stationed around a house threatened by Israel, while security forces have established checkpoints at the town's entrances.
Earlier reports from the agency noted that Israeli drones were observed flying at low altitudes over villages in the Zahrani region, as part of increased aerial activity in several areas of southern Lebanon.
